Position description
The supporter of conservation action volunteer will help out with planting, obtaining seeds and taking care of native plants. The volunteer will support reforestation in different areas of the reserve and work with local communities. Other activities include the maintenance of paths, recycle bins, hummingbird feeders, roads, ecolodges and gardens.
Profile
For this position you do not need to have specific experience or studies. You just need to be passionate and committed to conservation and nature in general. Simple life, outdoors activities and healthy food will make this experience unique. Ecovolunteers should be older than 18 years old.
Volunteer Activities
Maintain tree nursery, gardens, ecological paths, and feeders
Obtain seeds
Fill up bags for the tree nursery
Support reforestation/tree nursery programs in conjunction with local community
Record meteorological data
Place recycle bins along the road and at the ecolodge
Place benches along ecological paths
Duration
The minimum time required is one (1) month. Ecovolunteers will work 40 hours per week. Working schedule is 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Ecovolunteers are allowed to have two days off every week. This has to be agreed with the program coordinator.
